Hermes Medical Solutions unveils new Hermia release

Stockholm, Sweden – May 13, 2025 – Hermes Medical Solutions (HMS), a global leader in molecular imaging and dosimetry software solutions, proudly announces the latest updates within Hermia, including new CE marked functionalities*, designed to advance precision and efficiency in nuclear medicine imaging and dosimetry.

“This latest release represents a significant step forward in personalized medicine for oncology, enhancing patient outcomes,” says Tom Francke, Chief Executive Officer at Hermes Medical Solutions. “With upgraded segmentation tools, automated workflows, and advanced image analysis this update enables faster and more precise quantitation and personalized dosimetry, as well as elevated routine reporting.”

The new updates provide an intuitive and comprehensive toolkit for displaying and analyzing nuclear medicine images across multiple modalities, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, PET/MR, and RTDOSE.

The release also introduces computer-assisted organ segmentation to enhance workflow speed and consistency, the Dmax tool to quantify lesion spread in disseminated disease, and a split tool for manual separation of adjacent lesions or physiological uptake.

The new Theranostic Dashboard optimizes patient-specific activity injections while ensuring safe dose limits for all available radiopharmaceuticals. Personalized tutorial support helps standardize complex or infrequent workflows.

Additional key innovations in the new Hermia release include:

Hermia SIRT – Advancing Personalized Dosimetry for Selective Internal Radiation Therapy (SIRT)

Hermia’s SIRT application delivers a streamlined and precise workflow for dosimetry planning and verification, aligning with EANM guidelines. It features computer-assisted CT segmentation of the liver and lungs, live dose optimization feedback for personalized treatment plans, and multi-target, multi-injection lesion planning with single-click SPECT-based segmentation. Automated 3D lung shunt calculation improves accuracy, while deformable registration enhances post-therapy assessment. The software fully supports 90Y resin and glass microspheres, with comprehensive DICOM reporting for dose planning and verification.

Hermia Lung Lobe Quantification

The Lung Lobe Quantification (LLQ) tool enhances diagnostic precision by integrating computer-assisted CT segmentation of lung lobes with perfusion and ventilation SPECT images. A new lung segmentation algorithm ensures rapid and accurate lobe delineation, complemented by user-friendly manual adjustment tools for refining segmentation. The optimized workflow reduces unnecessary steps while improving editing control. LLQ provides access to all available tools to process even the most severely diseased lungs, including save and reload of regions for editing on review. Advanced registration technology with deformation ensures perfect alignment of diagnostic CT with SPECT studies. Visually compelling 3D-rendered lobe presentations assist the surgical team to choose the correct target lobe for lung volume reduction procedures, maximizing the chance of good patient outcomes.
