Hermes Medical Solutions announces Health Canada approval for latest Hermia software update

Stockholm, Sweden – May 27, 2026 – Hermes Medical Solutions (HMS), a global leader in molecular imaging and dosimetry software solutions, proudly announces that the latest release of its flagship platform Hermia, featuring significant new advancements*, has now been approved by Health Canada, enabling expanded access to these powerful tools across Canadian nuclear medicine and theranostics practices.

“This latest release represents a significant step forward in personalized medicine for oncology and beyond,” says Tom Francke, Chief Executive Officer at Hermes Medical Solutions. “With Health Canada approval now secured, clinicians across Canada can leverage upgraded segmentation tools, automated workflows, and advanced image analysis for faster, more precise quantitation, and personalized dosimetry.”

The updated Hermia release delivers an intuitive, comprehensive toolkit designed to streamline nuclear medicine imaging and dosimetry workflows across multiple modalities, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, PET/MR, and RTDOSE, and is now authorized for clinical use in Canada.

Key features now accessible under Health Canada approval include:

Hermia SIRT – Enhanced dosimetry for selective internal radiation therapy

Hermia’s SIRT application delivers a streamlined, precise planning and verification workflow aligned with EANM guidelines. Features include CT-based organ segmentation, live dose optimization, multi-target planning, automated 3D lung shunt calculations, and deformable registration for post-therapy assessment.

Hermia Lung Lobe Quantification

This tool facilitates enhanced diagnostic precision by combining CT segmentation of lung lobes with perfusion and ventilation SPECT imaging. With a new segmentation algorithm and advanced registration technology, clinicians can rapidly and accurately delineate lung lobes and visualize 3D-rendered lobe presentations to support procedures such as lung volume reduction.

With Health Canada’s approval, Hermia is now positioned to support Canadian healthcare professionals with a robust, versatile platform that enhances diagnostic confidence and supports personalized patient care.
